Adelaide to Sydney pics.......

Fabulous people x

Totes emosh!

Bye bye old friend xx

ByeBye Adelaide, Hello Pops!!

And so the day arrived.  It was time to head back to Sydney for one last night and to meet up with Pops, Fred and Cath to hear all the shenanigans they had been up to!  But you know me, I like to make the most of every second so after bidding a tearful farewell to the wonderful Heggie's, it was time for a beach walk with Sue (who was kindly taking me to the airport) and Mandy (who wasn't at work till later!)

We had a lovely couple of hours in the sunshine, meandering along the beach, dipping my toes into the ocean for the last time this trip and feeling the sand between my toes and the sun on my face.  Lovely (apart from the sand bit which I am not that keen on but when in Rome....)

Breakfast was taken on the seafront and then another goodbye was said and Sue drove me to the airport, laughing all the way at some childhood memories....

Yet another tearful 'see ya' and a stupid photo ensued and then as I waved goodbye to Sue I realised this really was it, I was starting the journey home.  I won't get too sentimental just yet, those who have followed my before know I leave that for the finale, but let's just say I had a tear in my eye but was safe in the knowledge I would be back sooner than they probably could cope with......

Good flight to Sydney, fab view from the window as always and the shuttle bus back to the hotel it all started in, The Sydney Boulevard.  Not an Opera house view this time, but a great city view from the 19th floor, and soon Pops was on his way with Cath and Fred.

It was soooooooo good to see them all and Pops looked so well!! Beaming from ear from ear to ear and we headed over to the local (scene of previous drink related pre-empting illness) and settled in with a pint an hours of stories that had me laughing out loud, groaning and crying in equal measure.  I am gonna try and get Pops to write some stuff down on the plane and I can post it when I get back as there was just so much to talk about, he was over the moon.

But then the inevitable time came and as will all good things, they must take a break before they can be resumed (my take on 'all good  things must come to an end').

Tears were flowing, handshakes and hugs given and the felling with which they said goodbye just showed me how  their friendship had survived after all these years.  Once again, I will leave the sentimental but till later as I will just sit and blub, using up the last few nano seconds of free hotel wifi.....

We carried on in the pub, laughing and just winding down and it was amazing to see Pops so happy.  I am very proud of him, and when you hear what he has been up to you will see why.....!!

And so we bid farewell to the local and headed across the road for our last nights sleep, him tipsy this time and me as sober a judge (I'm still not really over the red wine incident.....)

And so here I sit, that final morning has arrived.  I left Pops sleeping next door and headed out for mt last look at this fab city, but that is for another post.  So until I get more free wifi....

TTFN..... xxx
